It is expensive for young adults to purchase car insurance. They are considered high risk.  Therefore, their rates are higher than other customers. This creates financial difficulty, but there are ways to reduce your premiums.  My family was faced with this situation a few months ago, and we were able to obtain discounts because we took some defensive driving courses. We also increased our deductible from $250 collision damage to $500. We also purchased renters insurance to take advantage of the multi policy discount rate.  The rates are still high, but they are not as bad as the rates we were quoted before.
