Careers in Computer Repair on the College Campus

Large universities employ thousands of people, from staff to faculty to student employees.  Most of those employees need a computer in order to do their daily job, whether it’s billing students for tuition payments, typing up notes during a department meeting, or creating PowerPoint presentations for a classroom lecture. Since computers are a necessary part of an educational institution of any size, most universities and colleges employ their own computer repair staff members.  These employees work in an Information Technology department, and offer services ranging from virus removal to software loading to complete computer replacement when needed.  While university positions may not pay as well as a corporate computer job, the health and retirement benefits make these positions very attractive to those with the skills to work in IT.
